Solo Cross Country Backpacking Emigrant Wilderness - Day 1 - Crabtree to Hyatt Lake via Rosasco Lake

October 2022: Two-day, one-night, 25-mile partly cross-country solo backpacking trip from the Crabtree trailhead near Pinecrest Lake to Hyatt Lake. The outward-bound route took me past Camp Lake, Lily Lake, Piute Lake, the west fork of Cherry Creek and Rosasco Lake. The inward bound route took me past Louse Canyon, the west fork of Cherry Creek and Grouse Lake.

It was very dry and many of the empty creek beds could be walked on, so I had no trouble traveling cross-country most of the time. It had not yet gotten cold, so I even wore a tank top on the first day!
