How to teach your horse to free lunge (round penning)

The free lunging or round penning drill teaches your horse direction changes without ropes and teaches your horse to give you two eyes, and teaches them to want to be with you and follow you, as you will see in the video. Getting control over your horses hindquarters so that they turn to face up to you can decrease the risk of being kicked by your horse if they were to get a fright and suddenly kick out. Hindquarter control is the first body part I look to isolate on a horse and control with minimal pressure. If you get control of your horses feet you can easily gain their attention and get control of where and how you want them to move for you. The lesson finishes with some desensitising of the tool I was using to ensure the horse doesn't fear it or me.
