Palkia was one of the most dominant forces in the competitive ubers scene since its introduction in gen 4. This pokemon was considered an S tier threat in its debut generation and still ranked an A tier pokemon in gen 5. However after gen 5, this pokemon experienced a huge fall in its competitive career. In gen 6 its ranked a C tier pokemon and in gens 7 & 8 its only B-. unfortunately, Palkia completely fell off in gen 9, where it is ranked a D tier pokemon, which is considered an unviable pokemon in the ubers tier. So what happened to Palkia, how did it go from a defining threat in the ubers metagame to an unviable pokemon that sees no use?
