Homeland & Place Names

Описание к видео Homeland & Place Names

Roberta Conner of Tamástslikt Cultural Institute talks about the language and place names used by the Indian Tribes of the Walla Walla region - the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people. Native names for places followed different conventions than English and other European names, often alluding to stories or resources instead of individuals' names.
