Maruti Swift Dzire vs Hyundai Xcent Video Comparison

Exteriors:
Swift Dzire headlight cluster has been modified with smoked finish black inside. The front fascia of the car has undergone complete rebuild with new radiator grille and chrome strip having company’s logo on it. Its fog lamps graced with chrome plated strips that give an impressive look. The side view of new Swift Dzire gets new alloy wheels, but the rear profile remains the same. Its tailgate highlighting with horizontal chrome plate with engraved “ Maruti Swift Dzire “ badge. This facelift has added electrically foldable side view mirrors and rear parking sensors. On the other hand, Hyundai cars are known for styling, it is equipped with high-intensity headlamps, the radiator grille of the car is engraved with company’s logo. The trapezoidal air dam surrounded by chrome lining. The boot of the xcent is very well designed and it doesn’t look odd. The tail lamps look small as compared to swift dzire and overall rear appearance doesn’t match the front.

Engine and performance:
Both cars come with petrol and diesel engine. Dzire is powered by 1.2 litre K series petrol engine and 1.3 litres in the multijet engine. On the other hand, Xcent is equipped with 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.1 litres in diesel engine. The 1.1-litre engine of Hyundai Xcent is small in the capacity as compared with a multijet diesel engine of Maruti Swift Dzire. Xcent has a power output of 71.01 bhp with 180.4 Nm of torque, whereas Dzire produces the power of 74 bhp with 190 Nm. Xcent is not a peppy car, its does not seem to be enthusiastic drive, while on the other hand swift dzire is peppier. The clutch on both cars is light and easy to drive. However, the Dzire handles much better than Xcent. The suspension of the Xcent is good as compared to Dzire. The steering wheel of dzire is little heavy than the previous version, you can feel the heaviness when the car is at low speed mostly in cities and on the highway it's steering ways up quite comfortable. The suspension of this car is not good as the speed brakes, irregularity of roads can be felt inside the cabin.

Interiors:
Now coming to the interiors, Both cars come with black and beige colour scheme. Both are equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls, auto air con and two airbags. Coming to the safety, Dzire has ABS in top end trim whereas Xcent has ABS in optional trim. Rear seats and boot space of the Xcent offers more space than Dzire. Hyundai Xcent gets 407 litres of boot space, which is enough for carrying large luggage, while Swift Dzire offers the boot space of 305 litres only. Maruti Swift Dzire has simple and cozy interiors. You can find the new upholstery, but it does not give a classic look. On the rear space, it is same as the previous dzire. Rear passengers get equally comfortable seats with a foldable central handrest. The overall quality used in Xcent is better than Swift Dzire. So, in terms of interiors Xcent is loaded with better features, comfort, more space for passengers and luggage.

Verdict:
The performance of both the cars is head to head. Dzire is equipped with with more powerful engine, whereas Xcent offers more comfort and ride quality. Though Dzire is the country’s largest selling sedan, but it can face some serious competition with Xcent.
