Two Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) AP-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft, an E-7A Wedgetail and a KA-350 King Air aircraft form the Australian air component on Exercise BERSAMA SHIELD 14 (BS14). EX BS14 is a two week, tri-service, exercise conducted from 22 May - 05 Jun 14 and controlled by Headquarters Area Integrated Defence System, at Royal Malaysia Air Force, Butterworth. EX BS14 is an annual exercise to enhance interoperability and strengthen the relationship of the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) nations, including Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. In total from all five nations, 53 aircraft achieved over 750 missions. The air effort was supported by 5 naval vessels and thousands of personnel working in areas as Operations, Planning, Logistics and Maintenance.
