So I've been after the Loro Piana Summer Walk loafer for years now and finally decided to purchase a pair. I decided to put them head-to-head with the Scarosso Ludavico, Oliver Cabell Ellis Slip On, and the Charles Tyrwhitt Suede Slip On loafers. The goal was the find the best summer walk loafer and to find the best value for money. With quiet luxury, stealth wealth, old-money aesthetic silent luxury all on the rise, these types of summer loafers have become more and more popular - especially the past year and a half.

Charles Tyrwhitt was our first contender for the best summer walk loafers starting us off at $129. This style of suede loafers for men in general has a simple construction and are normally glued together. These loafers were constructed really well but lacked the aesthetic I was after. They were chunkier and more structured than the other loafers which did not make them versatile. The white rubber soles on this loafer are common throughout but the color of the Charles Tyrwhitt Suede Slip On was different than the rest.

Oliver Cabell was next with their Ellis Loafer. This suede summer loafer looked much more like what I was used to. The suede was from a a full grain leather and overall the quality was much better. There were some small flaws in the finishing but at $189 it was good for the money. The summer walk style loafer is made in Portugal and overall looked nice. The Oliver Cabell loafer was wider and rounder than the others so could make for a good option for men with with wider feet.

Scarosso was our next contender with their Ludavico suede summer walk style loafers at $340. Scarosso is an Italian brand through-and-through and it is evident in the narrow design. The suede white rubber sole loafers look incredible and have great lines. Scarosso claims these are made in Italy with the finest rubber and suede materials available. The results showed as these felt super high quality on foot.

Finally, we have the holy grail, Loro Piana Summer Walks in suede. These have been impossible to get lately since the "quiet luxury" has become trendy. I bought mine from the Paris Loro Piana boutique and got lucky by arriving when they opened. The quality of the suede on these summer walk loafers is the best I've ever handled. These sleek, minimalist summer walk white sole loafers can be worn on practically anything. The unlined suede makes these the lightest summer loafers here. As with most things with Loro Piana, finishing, quality and materials are all industry leading and these Summer Walk Loafers are no exception.
