Sarah Vaughan and Bernard Ighner sings the Poetry of Pope John Paul II {Live + Studio}

On June 30, 1984, an historic concert took place in the Tonhalle, the famous concert hall of Dusseldorf, West Germany. The event was the culmination of three years of work by artists os 19 nacionalities. The star of the concert was Sarah Vaughan, one of the truly great singers of the Twentieth Century. She sang a cycle of songs based on poems written years earlier by a young Polish priest named Karol Wojtyla, who woud become the first non-italian Pope in four centuries and take the name John Paul II.

No dia 30 de junho de 1984, houve um histórico concerto em Tonhalle, a famosa sala de concertos de Dusseldorf , Alemanha Federal. O evento foi o culminar de três anos de trabalho de artistas de 19 nacionalidades. A vedete do concerto foi a senhora Sarah Vaughan, uma das realmente grandes cantoras do século vinte. Ela cantou um ciclo de canções baseadas em poemas escritos anos antes pelo jovem padre polaco Karol Wojtyla, que se tornou o primeiro Papa não italiano em quatro séculos e que ficou com o nome de João Paulo II.
