Today we focus on a P2187 (08583) and P0506 (01286) codes for this 2007 Volkswagen Passat. This is a 2.0 TFSI BPY engine code, automatic transmission. We found that the internal vacuum leak from the PCV valve was causing the lean code and causing the idle to fall. Other things for you to check are throttle body cleaning, N80 valve leaks to the tank, and of course fueling issues. This is a pretty common issue on these vehicles and it is a really easy fix!
