I love https://eveeye.com (Eveeye Explorer) as a third-party tool that lets me never open the map in EVE Online. While the default map has it's charms and is a noble effort, EVE Eye makes it so much easier to understand the systems and spot up-to-date information about them. I think everyone should use it!
