We lost Wheatley… Portal 2 - Part 2 | from Valve

We team back up with Wheatley in a daring escape from Level 21. After thwarting her turret production line and imploding the neurotoxin generator, we finally make it to GLaDOS in the control room.

The control room initiates a core transfer and Wheatley takes GLaDOS’s place. We assume this is it! We have finally defeated GLaDOS! We jump into the escape lift and can taste the freedom.

But the power…it consumes and darkens our once good friend.

So much so that he keeps us down in the facility, bringing the escape lift back down. He falls victim to the blinding power, stating he did all of this…”tiny, little, Wheatley did this.”

To which GLaDOS argues that we did all the work, so sadly he questions us and our teamwork, and groups us with GLaDOS as an enemy.

He goes further to ruin GLaDOS, and make HER feel small—transferring her essence into a mini potato-powered core.

But this doesn’t stop GLaDOS from pushing his buttons. She mentions that she knows him, that he was “designed to be a moron”. Designed to dampen her and make her behave.

Wheatley has a fit of rage over GLaDOS’s words and his anger gets the best of him. He pummels the escape lift down until it shatters and we are sent free falling down a mile-long pit.

We wake up in the original Aperture Science facility that was purchased as a salt mine by the influential Cave Johnson in 1944. It is now condemned and we are forced to continue through a grueling set of puzzles.

Thanks so much for hanging out, this game gets better and better with each play. I love it and will for sure be back with a Part 3.
