(18 Jan 2015) PRINCE CHARLES INSPIRES VIVIENNE WESTWOOD COLLECTION PRESENTED IN MILAN
"buy less, choose well, make it last." That's what Vivienne Westwood hopes she inspires with her fashion designer. She uses unisex fashions to further her message by doubling up on our clothing matches. You can just borrow each other's clothes and so I just love unisex and it's always very theatrical and if you think about theatrical clothes, they can be quite unisex. You know a peasant from the Middle Ages can look like it's a woman or a man. It's got a long dress on and whatever."
Westwood says her Milan autumn/winter collection looks to Prince Charles for inspiration. "We've borrowed Prince Charles. We've adopted him for what we want to say for this collection. Prince Charles has done the most - he's done more good in the world than anybody I can I can think of in the last 30 years since he's been an adult and had a career and right back in the '70's he realized that we have to live in harmony with the world and he started he organic farming and with this organic farming he funds all these charities."
To match the mood the make up is unisexual and the pieces are fun and theatrical. There are wools, belying their English heritage but featuring new shapes, colors and ways of assembling layers. The pieces are open-minded and unexpected - featuring the face of Prince Charles on the t-shirts.
