In this video, I'm going to show you how to back up your WordPress website for FREE in 10 mins. You’ll also learn how to restore your WordPress website and why backing up your website is important.

A website backup is when you download a copy of your website. This is important to do because if something happens to your website, you will be able to use the backup to restore your site. Once you restore your website using the backup. Your website will look exactly the same as the day you downloaded the backup.


Downloading The Plugin: 1:05
The plugin we are going to use is called UpdraftPlus. To install the plugin go to your WordPress dashboard, hover over “plugins” and then click “add new”. Now search for “UpdraftPlus”, then install and activate it.


Backing Up Your Website: 1:56
Updraft will automatically guide you through the whole process when you activate the plugin. Follow the steps to backup and automatically schedule backups.


Restoring Your Website: 4:54
Go to "existing backups" and click on "restore" for any backup you'd like to recover. That's it! If you are migrating your site, just reinstall the Updraft and then click on the “rescan for remote backups” option. This will take the backups from Google Drive, or wherever you uploaded your backups and restore your new website.
