As former New York Islanders forward Mariusz Czerkawski stands before the trading card wall, his eyes scan the generations of players who’ve worn the blue and orange. He pauses with a smile as he finds his own card — the familiar photo of him mid-stride, stick in motion, frozen in time.

“This brings back a lot,” he says, his voice touched with nostalgia. “I remember my first game at Nassau Coliseum, the roar of the crowd... it was electric. Seeing myself here among so many great names — it’s special.”

Czerkawski reflects on his seasons with the Islanders, from his breakout performances to the camaraderie in the locker room. As he points out teammates and friends on the wall — some legends, some unsung heroes — he shares quick stories: a big goal, a quiet moment, a laugh during practice.

“To be a part of this history, this family — it meant everything,” he says. “And it still does.”
