iOS 26.1 Release Candidate was issued on October 28, and after using it for a full week on my iPhone 17, here’s my honest take. In this video, I’ve shared my one-week review covering stability, performance, battery life, and the new features Apple introduced with this update.

The main highlight is the new iOS Glass Effect Tinting feature, which adds a beautiful visual layer to the system. FaceTime audio and video quality have improved, and Apple Music now includes a subtle new skipping sound feature — plus, the overall system feels smoother and more stable. I also noticed a 10–15 minute increase in screen-on time compared to the previous build.

If you’re already on the developer beta or running iOS 26.1 Beta 2, 3, or 4, this update is worth installing. Others can wait for the RC2 version for more stability.
