The SUBSTITUTE Function[1] was introduced in MS Excel 2007 and is available under Excel Text functions. It will replace one or more text strings with another text string. The function is useful when we wish to substitute old text in a string with a new string. The Microsoft Excel SUBSTITUTE function replaces a set of characters with another. The SUBSTITUTE function is a built-in function in Excel that is categorized as a String/Text Function. It can be used as a worksheet function (WS) in Excel. As a worksheet function, the SUBSTITUTE function can be entered as part of a formula in a cell of a worksheet. In Excel, the SUBSTITUTE function finds a string in a cell and replaces it with another string. The SUBSTITUTE function is case-sensitive and looks for instances of the string in the cell. You can choose whether the SUBSTITUTE function works on a specific instance of the string or if it affects all instances.
