I clean my Leatherman Surge Multitool with Mineral Spirits and a steel brush. It’s been 4 hard years and this tool has earned a bath. The coating is surprisingly durable, but it does detract from the smoothness and “break-in” of the tool. And yes, I thought I’d had the tool longer, probably because I’ve had it at hand basically every day since receiving it.
