Sound in the Silence in Pitești | 2024

Описание к видео Sound in the Silence in Pitești | 2024

In October 2024, students from Poland, Romania, Germany, and the Czech Republic came together in Bucharest to learn about Romania's 20th-century history during the 'Sound in the Silence' project. From the World Wars to the communist era and the oppressive Ceaușescu regime, they explored the layers of history that shaped the nation.

Their journey then took them to the Pitești Prison Memorial, the site of one of the most cruel experiments in the modern world, carried out between 1949 and 1951. Guided by the artists Dan Wolf (Creative Writing), Kat Rampackova (Dance), and Sean Palmer (Vocals), the students reflected on these historical events and expressed their emotions through an inspiring final performance blending acting, dance, music, and creative writing.

The video was filmed and edited by Rafał Kudyba.

Participants of the 2024 edition included students from:
Complex of Technical and Secondary Schools No. 2, Katowice (Poland)
Arts College, Baia Mare (Romania)
European School, Munich (Germany)
1st International School, Ostrava (Czech Republic)
