Great egret swallows tilapia and it puts up a great fight in his throat. The footage in the beginning is a little out of focus as I was off balance when it happened. It improves when you see the fish moving in his throat. After a sip of water and a couple of head shakes, the fish finally moves down it's throat. #sushi

The Great Egret is a fairly uncommon and localised resident, nomadic in response to water levels. He eats mainly fish and also frogs, insects and reptiles. Nests above water in trees or in reedbeds.
