Probably the last piano étude by Farrenc I will post, but never say never ;D
A rondò-like Mendelssohnian scherzo in f minor very interesting because of some factors:

The main motive, a very useful oscillation between the f-e that brings kind of surprise or inquietude and then, a quick arpeggio.

The developing of the musical motive into phrases, going, most of the times from low to top.

The cut but fluent harmonic texture, that seems fall and fall again.

The middle section, a very suitable anticlimax still with the main motive.

The construction and conception of this piece in very Beethovenian while maybe is closer to Mendelssohn's spirit in which the motive articulates the architecture of the piece; a risky conception that maybe makes the piece a little repetitive, but Bach's, Mendelssohn's and Beethoven's music is sometimes AS motivical as that piece, so it's not Farrenc's fault.
