Before Russell T Davies got his hands on Doctor Who, there used to be touching moments of dialogue between characters that didn't revolve around their sexuality.

Binro the heretic provides one of the most memorable moments in The Ribos Operation - if not all of Tom Baker's tenure as the Doctor - when he describes to Unstoffe his theories of what the lights in the sky are, his feeling that they are distant suns and not ice crystals.

When this is confirmed by Unstoffe - himself a visitor from another world - we are presented with a beautiful and genuinely touching moment, the likes of which is rarely seen in new Who.
