The singer Sofia Jernberg (* 1983) grew up in Sweden, Ethiopia and Vietnam and currently lives in Norway. She is concerned with unconventional vocal techniques such as split tones, toneless and distorted vocals. As a soloist in Mats Gustafsson's Fire! Orchestra she became internationally known and performed as an improviser in many other constellations, too. As a composer she is interested in the combination of improvisation and composition.
