Self ankle strapping for a lateral ankle sprain or ankle instability

Описание к видео Self ankle strapping for a lateral ankle sprain or ankle instability

Sydney Physiotherapist Alex Donald demonstrates how to strap your own ankle if you have sustained a lateral ankle sprain, or have ankle instability.

Alex is a Physiotherapist in Sydney. He may be found at Ryde Natural Health Clinic in North Ryde. Call (02) 9878 5021 or visit www.rydenaturalhealthclinic.com.au for more information.

Please note: This is not the first aid treatment for an ankle sprain. This is how you would tape your ankle if you sprained your ankle several days ago, and wanted to tape it to provide more stability to run on your ankle for sport.

Usually 38mm ridged tape is used (in contrast to stretchable tape, such as 'Flex Tape', or 'Kinesiology Tape'.

If the glue in the tape irritates your skin, apply 'fixamol' tape underneath the ridged tape in the same sequence prior to applying the rigid tape.
