The mission of the Planes of Fame Air Museum is to preserve aviation history by assembling one of the world’s most extensive collections of rare and historic aircraft. By restoring many of these aircraft to flying condition, we safeguard some of history’s most precious airplanes and return them to the sky, allowing new generations to experience and appreciate our rich aviation heritage.
We inspire interest in aviation through our annual airshow, where thousands of spectators can see and hear historic warbirds, vintage aircraft, and aerobatic performers take to the skies. Our Aviation Discovery Center offers hands-on experiences that help visitors develop a deeper appreciation for the wonder of flight.

Through initiatives such as our youth programs, student art contest, and college scholarships, we strive to spark curiosity and encourage young people to explore the exciting field of aviation. We also educate the public through guided tours, school field trips, and engaging monthly Living History presentations.

To better share aviation’s important stories, we continue to enhance our museum exhibits with new levels of interactivity. Above all, we honor aviation pioneers and veterans by recognizing the intellectual and physical contributions of the men and women who built this industry, as well as those who advanced it through their service and sacrifice.
