For centuries, the Samaritan community has preserved over a thousand unique hymns and melodies passed down from our ancestors. Traditionally, this melody is sung during our tri-annual pilgrimages to our sacred site, Mount Gerizim.

In this recording:

The lead cantor intones:

"Moses and the Israelites sang this hymn to the Lord, proclaiming,
'Great is the Lord, for He has gloriously triumphed; horse and rider He has cast into the sea.'"

Following this, the congregation joins in, chanting:


"The Lord is my might and my melody; He has become my deliverance.
He is my God, whom I will laud; He is the God of my forebears, whom I will elevate.'"
