Backwater Blues

Описание к видео Backwater Blues

Nuthin' fancy here, just one guitar and voice in real time. Well OK, yes, a bit of fancy actually toward the end when I octaved-down the guitar. This was written by the "Classic Blues" belter Bessie Smith about 1930. [Postscript written in 2018: I just ran across the old 60s-era video of Mike Russo playing this song on a big old Harmony 12-string tuned down 3 half-steps, and I must say he played it funkier than anyone except Lead Belly himself. I feel like I'm getting a closeup of Huddie's hands...a dream wish.]
I dedicate this to all the folks out there who are feeling like the water's getting mighty deep these days. That would be a good many people, I believe.
