Aftermath Of KZN Floods | Southbroom Getaway | 14-17 04 2022

It was such an incredible weekend celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary, but I won't lie... It was quite a journey to get there, due to the floods that hit KZN just a few days before.

The N2 was backed up by so much traffic, we tried to detour onto the M4, which resulted in us driving straight through a taxi strike... I still don't know how we did it, but somehow we bypassed all that traffic and got back onto the N2 in no time. Well done, Corbz! It felt like Durban was hit by an apocalypse. It was incredibly sad to witness the devastation caused by the floods.

Southbroom itself is so beautiful and gives me tropical rainforest vibes. This is the first time we've ever been there, and we'll definitely be back again someday. Although the weather wasn't too great, it was still a good 10℃ warmer than Kokstad and we sure made the most of that. This was also by far one of the best AirB&B's we've ever stayed at. We had the best time and made so many beautiful memories.

To top it all off, we decided to add to our toy collection and spontaneously bought a YZ 85, in Port Shepstone. YOLO, right? Meet Yung Zoe everybooody. It sure was love at first sight for me!
