Bounty gets a shock! (Jumping) | Helmet Cam

Today's lesson was pretty hilarious...! Bounty is a little 12.2hh Exmoor Pony who is usually only ever used in beginner and lead rein lessons with small children, so I think she got a bit of a shock when I got on her! She was incredibly hard work for the first part of the lesson (you can hear how out of breath I am!) and she constantly tried to nap away from the fence towards the other horses, but as soon as we started cantering and then jumping, she had a great time! I never thought I would see the day when Bounty got all four feet off the ground, but she was pulling me into the fences and gave some of them quite a lot more clearance than they needed 😂 She backed off the final bounce a little bit because I don't think she understood which part she was meant to be jumping, but to be fair, Bounty's probably never jumped a bounce in her life, so I'm just pleased she got over it at all!

Obviously I am a bit too tall for this pony, but I am not too heavy (under 20% of Bounty’s body weight). It was a one off and she cantered round at full speed & jumped enthusiastically with no problem. 😊
