Is this the greatest home run call ever in Phillies history? To me it was. October 4, 1980, next to last game of the season, Phillies playing the Expos in Montreal to clinch the NL East, tied 4-4 in the 11th, Pete Rose on base and Mike Schmidt at the plate.
Most of the video clips I've seen have Harry Kalas' call from the Phillies' TV broadcast, but Andy Musser's call on the radio is the one I heard and remember. His cry of "He buried it! He buried it!" still gives me chills.
The Phils, of course, went on to win the 1980 World Series, their first ever title.
I found a recording of Musser's radio call and synced it to the video.
