Country Walking: Lympne and Hythe, Kent

Описание к видео Country Walking: Lympne and Hythe, Kent

A wonderful 10 miles of walking, on a very pleasant Spring day near the Kent coast. This variant of the walk starts and finishes at Sandling station, which is about 10 minutes (half a mile) from the GPX track above Hayne Tunnel, on the former Sandgate branch line. It also goes in an anti-clockwise direction, counter to the walk author's original suggestion.
Lunch was had in the grounds of St.Stephen's church, Lympne, where there are some wonderful views across the marsh to the sea. A bistro is also a possibility in the Castle next door, apparently.
There were some very muddy paths about today, and the narrow one descending from Lympne to the Royal Military Canal (Path HE319 to be exact) was particularly treacherous, with slippy mud, or rubber mats, underfoot and barbed wire on one side and brambles on the other. An accident waiting to happen!
Otherwise, a very good, varied walk with the welcome sound of the harbingers of Spring - Chiff Chaffs!
