Dodge Grand Caravan - REPLACING FUEL INJECTORS? WARNING (P0172 / P0175) FUEL SYSTEM TOO RICH

Описание к видео Dodge Grand Caravan - REPLACING FUEL INJECTORS? WARNING (P0172 / P0175) FUEL SYSTEM TOO RICH

In this video I am sharing my experience with replacing fuel injectors on 3.6L V6 Dodge G. Caravan engine and the purpose of this video is to inform you that you must use OEM Mopar fuel injectors or it could cost you financially thousands of dollars because aftermarket ones let too much fuel through and cause P0172 and P0175 codes ( 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | SE | CVP | AMP | SXT | LIMITED | CREW | VALUE PACKAGE | EXPRESS ).

I purchased the vehicle on the video from a car auction with a declaration of check engine light ON and above mentioned codes. Those codes stand for Fuel System Too Rich which means engine is getting too much fuel and not enough air. Symptoms are rough idle, hard acceleration, hard start, gas smell, etc.

I followed the recommended course of actions and tested vehicle for fuel pressure, compression test and vacuum leaks. Replaced MAP sensor. Replaced spark plugs, o2 sensors, cleaned gas tank and treated gas inside the vehicle as Dodge dealer diagnosed fuel is contaminated.

As per vehicle history fuel injectors were replaced recently as previous owner tried to fix it. We decided to replace them again with OEM refurbished (aftermarket) injectors. Codes still there.

Then we replaced PCM as we suspected computer is faulty. Did not help.

In the end I found info on the specialized car technician forum that this vehicle need OEM Mopar injectors. I was hesitant but luckily had same vehicle in shop and decided to swap the injectors. Other one was running perfect prior to swap. And what happened? Codes changed from one van to the other. That told me the "new" refurbished "OEM" injectors were faulty and were letting through too much gas to the engine. In the near future we had same experience with a different van that had aftermarket injectors installed.

So the point of the story is to replace with only OEM parts. Dodge / Chrysler / Jeep vehicles like their parts to be OEM. That applies to temperature blend door actuators as well.

Hopefully this video will help someone from wasting lots of money on unnecessary repairs and diagnostics.

Thanks for watching.
