Fender Player Telecaster vs Squier Affinity Telecaster

Fender Player Telecaster vs Squier Affinity Telecaster. Which is better? To be honest they're fairly similar and if you spent a little bit of money on new machine heads and a setup, the Affinity Telecaster would match the Fender Player Telecaster.

The good thing about the Squier Affinity Telecaster is the full thickness body, Squier Bullet guitars have thinner bodies and I'm not a fan. Both the Squier Affinity and Fender Player have through-body strings, 6 individual bridge saddles and 3 ply scratch plates.

The pickups in the Fender Player Affinity are a good output at 8k and 10k whereas the Squier Affinity Telecaster pickups are about half that output, oddly with the bridge pickup being lower output than the neck. The pickups still sound good though.

Both the Fender Player Telecaster and the Squier Affinity Telecaster (and the Bullet Telecaster for that matter) would benefit from having their fret ends dressed as they're always sharp of rough. This greatly improves playablility.

Although the Fender Player Telecaster isn't twice the guitar when compared to the Squier Affinity Telecaster, it does feel a lot more solid and the pickups are certainly an upgrade.
