In the fall of 2013, CryptoVest (an investment club in the UK) launched its first edition Litecoin. The design was selected from a winning submission by a user named Zinodaur in a contest that was sponsored on BitcoinTalk.org – a popular Bitcoin forum. Paying homage to the contest winner, this edition is sometimes called “Zinodaur.”

The contest was not created to make a profit. Instead it was launched as a form of advertising the CryptoVest investing club and cryptocurrencies. After the design contest, CryptoVest also released a chocolate version of the coin as a separate promotion to get the word out and promote Bitcoin and Litecoin on college campuses

There are a total of 4,000 CryptoVest coins that were minted – all of which were made from Zinc Alloy and supposed to be unfunded. There were 3,150 First Edition coins, like this one, and 850 Special First Edition coins.

The Special First Edition coins have a “window” in the hologram with the first bits of the public address - very similar to those you see in Casascius and Lealana coins. The First Edition coins only have a hologram hiding the address, as you see here.
