Ruben Östlund's upcoming English-language film, The Entertainment System Is Down, has been acquired by A24. The film follows a social satire set on a long flight where the entertainment system malfunctions, forcing passengers to discover other hobbies. The movie, which follows his award-winning film Triangle of Sadness, will premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Östlund and producer Erik Hemmendorff purchased a real Boeing 747 for the film, which will be shot over 70 days on a studio lot.
