The Last of Us is really a marvel of gaming, and Naughty Dog really outdid themselves with Part 2 (but, again, this analysis video is spoiler free for part 2). However, it always bothers me that Joel gets labeled as a villain by so many players. Does he feel guilty? Definitely! Is he an anti-hero? MAYBE. But the real villains here are the incompetent Firefly organization. We have no idea what their real motives were for making a vaccine, but I doubt it was to save the planet.
