This video shows how I convert my comic book series The Realm Ethereal from print format to vertical scrolling format for Webtoons.

I love print comics, and I intend to keep drawing my comic books that way. But I also want to share my work on Webtoons. Webtoons is a platform where the story is designed to be read on the phone, such as iPhone or Android.

I am using Adobe Illustrator for this process. I do this because all of my final artwork pages are lettered within Illustrator. This makes it easy to rearrange the artwork by creating clipping masks in Illustrator and then formatting the artwork onto the Webtoon dimensions of 800 x 1280 pixels.

After that, I export the artwork out as JPEGs directly from Illustrator. After that, I upload them to Webtoons. And just like that, I have my normal comic converted over to Webtoons.

As I stated, my own comic original started out in standard comic book format. I am slowly but surely converting the previous story pages to Webtoons format. And any new pages I create moving forward, I'll be uploading to Webtoon as well.
