NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — North Charleston officially opened a new bridge this week, and city leaders say it’s about much more than traffic relief, it’s about safety, community, and connection.

"This is a great time for the city of North Charleston," North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess said during the press conference. "We thank the South Carolina ports tremendously for connecting this bridge, not only with the Navy yard, but with the citizens. So we can actually experience this great, great environment that we call the Navy Yard.”
