This session was presented at the 2014 Calgary Brain Tumour Information Day by Roberto Jose Diaz.

Dr. Diaz grew up in Toronto and completed his undergraduate studies in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. After graduating from the MD program at the University of Toronto, he started his neurosurgery residency at the University of Calgary. During residency Dr. Diaz completed PhD studies in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology at the University of Toronto, studying targeted therapy for malignant brain tumours under the mentorship of Dr. James Rutka.
Currently, Dr. Diaz is in his final year of neurosurgical training and will start a clinical fellowship in surgical neuro-oncology at the University of Miami in July 2015. His research interests include cancer genetics, cell-cycle regulation, small-molecule and nanoparticle therapeutics.
