Research Capacity Strengthening in Africa: Perspectives from Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts

In 2020, the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) conducted a study to assess the support available to researchers in the social sciences, humanities, arts, and related fields (SSHA) in Africa. This research aimed to guide future programs by considering the significant contributions of SSHA scholarship to sustainable development in Africa.

The study's results were published in a journal article, which served as the basis for this webinar. During the webinar, experts presented the key findings and recommendations from the study, discussing lessons learned, opportunities, needs, and priorities for supporting SSHA research in Africa.
