A North Lincolnshire Rail Tour (NLRT) Special Train - 'The Lincolnshire Poacher', starting at Alford Town station, Lincolnshire heading north west through Yorkshire to Cumberland/ Westmorland. Following the West Coast Main Line the train (steam locomotive: Class V2 2-6-2 60870) thunders up to Shap Summit and then onto Penrith station, where the engine is changed for a pair of BR Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 engines for the next leg of the route... along the Cockermouth, Keswick & Penrith Railway (CK&PR). The footage shows the climb up to Blencow then on to Penruddock. It picks up again during the Greta Gorge section and shows the train at rest in Keswick station (arrived: 1135/ departed: 1400). The train then heads west to Workington. Here the locomotive is changed again, this time to a Stanier Jubilee 4-6-0. The train departs at 1501 and heads south along the Cumbrian coast route to Ravenglass. The passengers disembark and hop on the laal ratty - The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. The Lincolnshire Poacher departs Ravenglass at 1750 and carries on south to Carnforth, arriving at 1922. Here they are reunited with 60870, and head back to Alford Town station, Lincolnshire.
