Yellow Jacket Nest Treated and Removed from a basement

This homeowner was seeing yellow jackets on the outside of the home entering the home where their main electric line entered the house. The homeowner was also finding live and dead yellow jackets in the living room. All of this information led us to investigate the unfinished basement under the living room as the most likely spot where the yellow jacket nest would be located. After moving some insulation, we quickly found the nest! After using a insecticidal aerosol to kill of the nest, we were able to remove the nest. Once removed, we apply an insecticidal dust to the area above the insulation and then use a liquid insecticide on the outside of the house to take care of any workers that were out of the nest during the treatment process.
