Big data during the pandemic: COVID-19 research based on whole-population analyses of detailed linked electronic health record data

The COVID-19 pandemic led to unprecedented progress in making detailed linked electronic health record data available at population level in “Trusted Research Environments (TREs)” that protect privacy through stringent controls on outputs from analyses. We present results of COVID-19 research on up to 55 million people conducted by a large Bristol team in collaboration with colleagues in Cambridge, Oxford and other UK institutions. They include work on the consequences of COVID for subsequent health across a range of clinical areas, and the effects and side effects of COVID-19 vaccination.

This event is part of Bristol Data Week 2022, organised by the Jean Golding Institute. Running from Monday 13 June - Friday 17 June 2022. Bristol Data Week 2022 will be our 5th annual Data Week; an interactive programme of speakers, training, and workshops, open to all and completely free of charge.
