Lunar New Year is a time for cleaning every nook and cranny in the house, exchanging red envelopes stuffed with crisp dollar bills, and most importantly gathering with family and sharing delicious food. Every family does it differently, but it is traditonal to eat something incredible and party on with card games. Each year, my family would have a different spread of food. Sometimes it's bubbling hot pot with thin slices of fatty beef and assorted fish balls, or whole roasted duck or pork with crispy skin. My in-laws eat only vegetarian food during this momentous occasion. This year, we are still in the midst of a pandemic and gathering isn't the best idea so it'll just be the four of us. I attempted to make some dishes that I hope will bring my little family some good fortune. In this video, I will show you my twist and take on some fluffy and savory pork filled buns, wontons in chili oil, tomato egg scramble, noodle stir fry, and sticky rice with chinese sausage. I will also take you along on my New Years Cleaning tradition.
