My own fabric - the idea, the weaving and the final garment

Описание к видео My own fabric - the idea, the weaving and the final garment

Before the 20th century, it was common in Finland for women to weave their skirt fabrics themselves. Many of the surviving stripy fabrics have been an inspiration for numerous Finnish national costumes. I, however, have wanted to design my own fabric, just like the women a long time ago. Together with Susanna, who owns Kultavilla the weaving mill, we decided to make a new folk fabric. I designed the fabric, Susanna wove it and then I turned the final fabric into a skirt. Thank you, Susanna, for all the work you did to make this happen!
