Let's see what Nike built on the University of Oregon Campus together.

Sports marketing began here. Phil Knight and crew started Nike at University of Oregon creating the waffle sole shoe for Steve Prefontaine to dominate the track and field scene launching the running shoe, sports marketing and global icons like Michael Jordan into the forefront of every sports enthusiast across the globe. The headquarters of Nike is now in Beaverton, Oregon (a suburb in western Portland). Pro-tip, if you ever, ever are lucky enough to be invite to shop at the Nike employee store, take it and be prepared to spend your savings.

The Nike Employee store is a wonderland for sports wear of all season at crazy discount prices. Shoes galore and some stuff you won't even see outside of the campus. It's like going to your favorite restaurant and ordering off the menu. People around start looking at you like "What does this bitch know that I don't?". The honest truth is they will never know. They will NEVER know how cool it is to order off the the menu or to shop at the Nike employee store because they are not as cool as you. They will never be as cool as you and you can thank Phil Knight, The University of Oregon and Nike for making you cooler than most people in your immediate proximity. I'm not making this up, I'm just telling you what it is.

Anyhow, Eugene, as a city is fun too. There is a hippy strong hippy vibe, and you'll be hard pressed to not see some form of tie-dye every 20 to 30 minutes. By proximity most people are supporters of the 420 life style and are generally friendly (once you get past the hippy odor)

Although a Portland native I did not attend U of O. I attended the younger brother, Oregon State University, about an hour north. Visiting the campus for a fun fueled weekend while a student was like going to Vegas (before I actually went to Vegas). Entertainment. Food. People. This are my vacation essentials.
