Man charged with homicide of woman found dead in York County home

Northern York County Regional Police have charged a suspect with homicide, abuse of a corpse and other charges relating to the death of a 67-year-old Dover woman whose body was discovered Tuesday afternoon.

William Emilio Torres Gautier, 42, was taken into custody Tuesday by officers responding to a reported disturbance on the first block of South Main Street at about 2 p.m.

According to police, a neighbor reported a woman at the address had asked her to call police.

When the officers arrived, they encountered Gautier, along with a woman and two small children, at the rear of the home. As they spoke to Torres, one of the officers noted the woman was signaling that she needed help, according to police.
