If, you are, or going to become an upholsterer it is important to have some basic knowledge and understanding about some sewing machines you are going to work with...not so profound to turn into a technician.
This 'simple knowledge' includes 'how to adjust tensions', 'how to tune up a sewing machine', 'how a lock-stitch is done', 'what about different feed dogs and presser feet', what is the appropriate needle to do upholstery', etc. The demonstration is done on a '241-12 Singer sewing machine'.
I'd like to add that procedures on another industrial sewing-machines are almost similar...'basic principles are the same'.
