Even numbers end with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 - Why?

Описание к видео Even numbers end with 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 - Why?

Most of the primary students when asked the question - "What are Even numbers?" respond immediately as, "Numbers ending with 0,2,4,6 or 8" are Even numbers. When asked again, "Why is it so?", "How can you convince me that a big number like 8956 can be an Even number?", they may find it difficult.

In this Math Inquiry Learning Journey video, answer for those questions about Even numbers are not given directly. Instead, students are given a hands on activity and guiding questions to think, explore and make observations. When children are encouraged to ask questions, their interest in learning grows multi-fold. It also expands their knowledge and not limited to what they are taught!

Watch the video till the end to see what kind of other wonder questions students might ask to expand their understanding about Even and Odd numbers.
Please share your wonder questions, observations through this activity in the comments section.

Enjoy Math learning with activities and questioning.
