Kalki Puran Part-2 :
In the previous part, the kings who viewed goddess Padmavati with lustful eyes turned into women but were restored by Lord Kalki. They asked him about human existence, so Lord Kalki summoned Sage Anant and spoke with him. Curious about their conversation, the kings asked Sage Anant to share the details, and he narrated his story.
Sage Vidrum and his wife Soma lived near Jagannath Puri. Their son Anant, initially born a eunuch, was blessed by Lord Shiva to become a handsome and powerful man. Anant later married and settled into domestic life. Sadly, Vidrum and Soma passed away, leaving Anant to find solace in hosting Brahminical feasts and religious devotion.
Anant pleased Lord Hari, who appeared in his dreams and revealed that worldly successes and attachments are illusions of his MAYA. Despite this wisdom, Anant remained restless, seeking deeper understanding. He left for Purushottam Kshetra (Jagannath Puri) with his wife, established an ashram, and meditated fervently to comprehend the workings of Lord Hari's divine Maya.
After twelve years ,Ananta went for bath in the sea with his friends. Anant lost his balance in the water, drifted ashore unconscious near the South Sea, and was found and brought home by an elderly Brahmin named Sharma. Later, he married their daughter Charumati and had five sons. Anant gained fame as a respected Brahmin. one day,he witnessed his relatives of Purushottam Kshetra deeply immersed in devotion to Lord Hari, along with his past self.
Anant's desire to see Lord Hari's Maya led him to be swept ashore near the South Sea, rescued by Brahmin Sharma. Rejuvenated into youth, he puzzled his friends with existential questions and realized his pursuit had ensnared him in illusions and desires. Seeking solace, he turned to Lord Hari's teachings for clarity and understanding.
Anant met a sage whose presence felt like a beacon of enlightenment. The sage questioned Anant about his changed appearance and family, highlighting the intricate nature of divine illusion and the necessity to grasp its essence to understand the divine fully.The sage warned about Maya's deceptive power and advised on overcoming it through rigorous austerity.
Anant returned to meditation but faced challenges until gods revealed true spiritual progress through devotion to Lord Hari. Intensifying his worship, he sought Lord Kalki's divine vision to dispel Kali Yuga's darkness. Today, on Lord Kalki's wedding, Sage Anant attained divine darshan, inspiring kings towards righteousness.
