The stage is his grounds, the band is his army, the music is his weapon and the lyrics are his artillery. His name is Mr. Jemedari, a live performer who traces his roots to the coastal town of Kilifi in Kenya.

Combining his love for hip-hop and poetry, a passion for storytelling, and a huge coastal cultural influence, Jemedari's music is a fusion of sounds. It influences bringing together all these to form a unique yet entertaining listening experience.

Cheche sessions are monthly intimate live art and music experiences featuring an eclectic sample of talented artists sharing raw and stripped-down sets of their music from various genres.

Cheche, Swahili for Sparks lend their name to our live music sessions shot on location at Cheche Books and Coffee, an alternative Pan-African literary space in Nairobi, Kenya.
